Walking is Not for Wimps!

Have you ever felt like a wimp for walking as others run past you? Well, take heart! Walking is one of the best forms of exercise you can do—partly because anyone can do it, anywhere, anytime.

A recent study by the London School of Economics and Political Science showed that those who walk regularly actually tend to be more slender than those who go to the health club regularly to work out! Walking briskly for 30 minutes a day can result in a lower body mass index (thinner) and a more svelte waistline than people who don’t walk.

Of course, running is great too, but don’t feel bad if you can’t or just don’t want to run. Walking is a great way to get in shape. In fact, the American Council of Exercise highlights seven benefits of walking in this infographic. So, flex your leg muscles and show those naysayers that walking is NOT for wimps!
