Creating new habits in exercise and life

In my seasonal detoxes (which at this time, I only do with private clients) one of the major components is to develop habits for a detox lifestyle. Following a detox 4 times a year, with each changing season, is a great way to change eating “ruts” and develop new ways of cooking as well as more wholesome taste preferences.

The same is true with exercise, another important part of detox and any healthy lifestyle. With January approaching you might already be thinking of some New Year’s Resolutions, with “Exercise More” in the number 1 spot. But as we all know, that’s easier said than done.

So, how do you develop the habit of daily or almost daily exercise? According to B.J. Fogg, PhD, “tiny habits” are typically the most successful way to reach your bigger goals. He divides them into three parts:

1. Blade; 2. Shrub; 3. Tree

As a nature-lover and gardener, I like this picture! But what does it mean? Read the article, How I Cracked The Code for Creating Habits, and start planning your New Year’s Resolutions, or everyday resolve today!
