Kitchen Prep - Essential for a Successful Detox

DSCN0176

If you work, go to school, or simply have a hectic stay-at-home life, doing some kitchen prep work is essential for a successful detox!

On Monday (the MLK holiday), I took the time to chop up an assortment of vegetables for salads and side dishes to last up to 3 days.

Now that I have my Vitamix, I also chop up beets and fresh ginger to toss into my morning smoothie. I'm at the point where I need to buy a few more clear glass containers though! This is a good time to clean out your refrigerator and reorganize, too.  Detoxing the fridge while you detox your body!

In addition to veggies, I like to boil some eggs and drain and rinse garbanzo beans to take in my lunch or add to my salad. I usually have a big container of walnuts and throw a small handful in my salad or include as a snack. The possibilities are endless, and you'll find that it's a cinch to make your detox meals if you do this type of prep work.

The only problem is that your family might start munching on these easy-to-grab veggies, etc. while you're away. But, that's not such a bad thing!

Speaking of a busy day… I'd better make my smoothie and my lunch and get going!

Let me know your tricks for planning and preparing during the detox. I'd love to share other ideas on my blog!
