About Me

I’m a native Texan. In fact, I am a descendant of the first group of settlers to successfully colonize Texas with Stephen F. Austin, the Father of Texas, in 1825. That’s why I am and always will be Texan (even if I don’t always agree with some of the politics)! After college, I spent a year in France then worked in tourism, taking advantage of cheap travel for a few years. I went backpacking through Europe and cruising down the Nile, among other adventures. In 1980 I moved to New York City to work at a job that required fluent French. Although I insisted to my parents that I would only stay a few years, I ended up staying for over 30! Life is funny that way.

In 2011, I moved to Oklahoma City, which was great, since I was so close to my family located there as well as in Texas. Then, in August of 2013, my husband and I moved to Raleigh, NC where we hope to stay for a long time. I’m the proud mother of 2 adult children, who love to cook their own healthy meals and keep fit and active. While raising my children, I obtained a Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition and a Certificate as a Consulting Herbalist. I’m ACE certified as a Group Fitness Instructor and as an instructor for PraiseMoves, a trademarked alternative to yoga. Because my faith is such a vital part of my life, I also encourage others to seek a closer walk with God as part of their quest for holistic healing.

Currently, I teach private PraiseMoves classes via Skype and provide health coaching, all while working on a big cookbook project with my children. Our website FiniteFoodie.com targets young adults with very little time, resources or culinary know-how. We recently published a cookbook that can help anyone, regardless of age, set up a very simple but efficient kitchen and learn to cook easy, healthful meals. You can purchase it on our website.

Other interests include exploring new places, gardening, dancing, walking in the park, running with my dog, hiking, skiing, kayaking, traveling, reading, cooking, eating good food, laughing, entertaining friends, and spending time with God.

My family and friends are important to me, and I’m very grateful for their support and encouragement on my journey to better health and happiness. Please know that I am here to help YOU as you begin your own journey. If you have any questions, please email me. And, welcome to my website!
